Oat Cleansing Balm
Lush has released a set of brand new cleansing balms -

Including : "Oat", "Honey, Beeswax and Almond Oil", "Turmeric & Argan oil" and "Acai & Sacha Inchi".

  • After having a skin consultation at my local Lush, I decided to try out the Oat one. I have combination and somewhat sensitive skin as I used to be prone to breakouts, so this seemed like the most gentle option for my skin.

  • To give it a fair chance I tried using it with and without makeup. Now using it to remove makeup, heavy makeup may I add, was extremely easy. I had a full face of makeup on for at least 6 hours, and using not much product, I managed to remove all my face makeup. I however had to use a little extra for my mascara to come off, but I have to do that regardless with whatever I use.

  • I just applied it with clean fingers and used my palms to rub it in, and removed it with a warm wet flannel. The makeup came off in a lovely clean swipe.

  • Afterwards my skin felt smooth and calm, nothing aggravating or harsh. No stinging or burning sensations. With Lush you can always rely on there being no nasties hidden inside their products.

  • When I used this cleanser just on my bare skin after a long day at work, it felt like it got rid of the grime and oils of the day. It was like getting rid of the pollution in my skin. The feeling afterwards was the same effect as when I removed my makeup, there was no massive amounts of oily residue, it gave me some much needed moisture to my skin. I wouldn't have added moisturiser immediately after since I think its best to give it time to do its magic, but I normally do about an hour or 30 minutes after. On this occasion first trying it out, on a night time I left out my usual "Gorgeous" moisturiser and my face woke up feeling soothed and still quite hydrated.

  • Overall this new cleanser is becoming a fast favourite in my skincare routine and I'm tempted to try the others. My only wish is for it to be in the recycling programme with the other Lush plastic pots, but I do understand the recycling value of using it as glass, but the lid is still plastic.

  • Its a solid 9/10 for me!
